Daily Lessons from Life 28 January 2015 - CHC Trial and Asean's Unity??

1. "Indonesia's search for AirAsia crash victims could end in days - Reuters  Jan 28, 2015

JAKARTA - Indonesia's search for dozens of victims still unaccounted for from last month's crash of an AirAsia passenger jet could end within days if no more bodies are found, a senior government official said on Wednesday."

Must be traumatic for some of the families and friends of the victims who were NOT located and identified yet. Rest in peace.

2. "Malaysia to release interim report on MH370 on March 7 - Reuters  Jan 28, 2015

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia's Department of Civil Aviation will release an interim report on the investigation into the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 on March 7, a day before the one-year anniversary of the disappearance, deputy transport minister Aziz Kaprawi said on Wednesday."

It is almost 1 year and NONE of us are any closer to knowing nor understanding WHAT EXACTLY happened to the plane and the people on board! Sickening feeling for all involved and especially those with loved ones on board. The search in the Indian Ocean supposedly is STILL going on by a project funded by Australia and Malaysia governments the last news I read. Rest in peace assuming there is no survivors.

3. "CHC trial continues .... Jan 26, 2015 - AsiaOne 28 January 2015"

So the REAL trial has begun! The opening round had the ex-member challenging the 'leader'. Something unfathomable as recent as a few months ago!

I TRULY hope that the court of laws will mete out deterrent sentence to this group of accused IF they are guilty as charged! If proven guilty, they have manipulated the feeling and trust of their followers and insulted all God-fearing Christians and totally destroyed human decency.

4. "Asean ministers express concern over Chinese actions at sea - AFP  Jan 28, 2015

KOTA KINABALU - Southeast Asian foreign ministers on Wednesday expressed concern at Chinese land reclamation in the disputed South China Sea, as the Philippines urged them to stand up to Beijing.

The statement came after Manila warned fellow members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) at a ministers' retreat in Malaysia that the 10-country grouping's credibility was at stake unless it dealt strongly with the "critical issue in our own backyard".

"The retreat shared the concern raised by some foreign ministers on land reclamation in the South China Sea," said a statement by the gathering's host, Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman, following the two-day meeting."

A REAL test for Asean's unity?

Lessons for me are:

1. IF it is a matter of economic consideration, there is NO question where some of the members will stand;

2. IF it is a matter of Asean's unity, the ANSWER is clear: stand united and let that country know of Asean's unity!;

3. alas, which scenario will play out? item 1 or item 2 above? If I am a betting man, I will say: Item 1 is more likely for SOME simply cannot see $$ losing out to unity! After all, for some, unity has a price too! LOL!!

OK. A day where I commented on 4 news items! A record!!
