Daily Lessons from Life 27 April 2014 - More and more PAP Candidates in the news!

MH370 Updates - considering extended the undersea search. More frustration by all.

Incheon-Jeju Ferry Updates - More details emerged as to the probable causes of the listing and sinking of the ferry. It reads like a horror story with many blatant violation of marine-time safety rules and regulation and outright irresponsible human behaivors!

"More and moren PAP Candidates in the news! - AsiaOne.com 27 April 2014"

It is my belief that PAP will call for GE in 2015 instead of waiting till 2016.

Why 2015?

1. it is the 50th National Day. Nationalistic fervour will be high. The changes, which are good and to some extend credited to the loss of one GRC in GE2012, are taking shapes and seemed to strike a cord with some voters;

2. the ruling party has learned their lessons well and are launching their potential candidates to the ground activities first as that was what the voters were telling them. It makes good sense and the right move. Hopefully the potential candidates, the 4 being speculated upon are all highly qualified professionals, are truly passionate about serving the people - people who are not as smart and qualified as them and may not be able to understand their lingos is they are not mindful. Notes: was a wee bit surprised at the 'arms folded across the chest' photos by 2 of the potential candidates as most body language readers would have attached a not-so-positive posture!;

3. what will the moves from the opposition parties? The biggest amount them is the Workers' Party (WP). I am sure all eyes will be on them to do something. Anything. If they are strategic, they should be recruiting and launching their candidates too. It will be interesting to see as the race to the next GE begins in earnest!

May Singaporeans be served by more genuinely interested in public services politicians - adopted or hijacked or whatever. We need capable people who are able to gel with the majority of the people that need their help to help themselves.
