Daily Lessons from Life 15 December 2013 - China's Lunar Probe 'Jade Rabbit' has Landed

China's 'Jade Rabbit', the machine that will explore the Moon's has landed successfully. China has become the 3rd nation on earth that had such capability after the USA and Russian (or the ex-USSR).

It is obviously a very significant advance for the Chinese space program and the people behind it and all ordinary Chinese who care about such matter.

The interesting bits, or the lessons, for me are:

1. it has landed on the moon and China has become only the 3rd nation on earth that had this capability. BUT so what to the ordinary Chinese? to the residents of the recently smog wrapped mega-cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong? Not very much as their problems are IMMEDIATE while the 'lunar vehicle' or whatever you want to call it has, maybe, potential and possibilities of a long term!;

2. the recent incident of a Chinese military vessel nearly caused, as alleged by the American, a collision with an American state-of-the-art ship by supposedly intentionally stopping in the way of the American vessel without warning, causing the American ship to take urgent and immediate evasive actions to prevent a collision DOES NOT august well for a 'peaceful South China Sea'. Is the Chinese getting bolder and bolder due to its confidence in its own technological prowess? If so, perhaps the successful landing of the lunar probe may not be a 'good thing'!;

3. anyway, the Chinese lunar probe will supposedly carried up exploration of the Moon's underground resources. Something no one else has done before. Not even the Americans and the Russians! Hopefully they don't cause the Moon and Earth to have 'unnatural' attraction and create more 'unintended consequences'. :-)

May advances in space technologies promote PEACE on earth!
