"Even Thatcher's home town divided on her legacy - AFP Tuesday, Apr 09, 2013
GRANTHAM, United Kingdom - Even in Margaret Thatcher's home town, where her
lifelong beliefs were forged in her father's grocery shop, opinion was sharply
divided on Tuesday about their most famous daughter."
"Some Britons celebrate death of 'Iron Lady' with parties - Reuters Tuesday, Apr 09, 2013
LONDON - Controversial in life, ex-Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher continued
to divide the nation in death, with sombre plans for a funeral and eulogies
rejected by some in favour of celebrations and parties."
I said I respect her for being the 'Best man for the job' and busting the infamous/notoriously militant coal mines union. A feat never been done before. This is undeniable. I also said she is a controversial figure too. Most strong and firm national leaders and leaders have some of these curses.
So, it is not surprising that some of her 'enemies', not being impartial and a natural bitter response, greeted her death with parties! For she is such a trail blazer that force people to choose side strongly. I would rather be such instead of no one thinking about me where the time has come to pass-over!
Lessons for me are:
1. strong and firm leaders do not look at how other looks at them but how they can live in peace with their own commitment and conviction;
2. strong and firm leaders do expect many people to have different and strong response to his or her deeds. This lady is not about pleasing others but about if she is absolutely correct to do this or that!;
3. hopefully strong and firm leaders got their decisions more right than wrong so that a great majority of the people can benefit from such a decision. If they got it wrong and often, the legacy will be destroyed. Many lives will be impacted negatively.
May she rest in peace and know that she has done great as far as I am concerned!
