Daily Lessons from Life - 1-2 October 2012 - You Reaped What You Sowed! Or NOT!!

I was flat out on 2 nights of working till 5 a.m. and then slept till 8.30 a.m. and 9.30 a.m. to complete the work. Good to know I can still do it without feeling overly fatigued. Still, need to plan better!!

It is, or was, already 1st and 2nd October 2012! 2012 just has 3 more months to go.

A few things to reflect on besides my personal poor planning mentioned earlier.

A fatal accident while out in the sea expecting to enjoy a National Day firework display. That was what happened to the Hong Kong Electric staffs and family members had in mind but met that fatal accident at sea with 36 lives lost! The 1st but major fatal accident in this very busy sea lane around Hkg in almost 40 years. Fate? Carelessness? 6 crew members were picked up by the Hkg police to assist in the investigation. Reason: the sea was relatively calm and not busy.

A sad day.

In Jakarta for the 1st time since 2 years ago. The queue at the immigration was an unfamiliar experience as it was long and slow. :-)  Guessed it is 3 counters with a lot of mainland Chinese tourists that they could not handled or unexpected (which they should since 1 October week is already a traditional mainland Chinese exodus Golden Week!).

Still, met a chatty and well-centered taxi driver along the way to the hotel. Simple philosophy he has. Be happy and do good and not wanting to be too rich! Raised 4 kids to university education in 30 years as a taxi driver. Not too bad at all. No mean feat!

Well, got to go to bed now for tomorrow client's work.
