Some observations of news headlines:
1. Pakistani Minister offered US$105k for the head of the film maker of the inflammatory rubbish movie: "The Innocence of Muslims'. The movie that triggered anti-American protests, some deadly, around some parts of the world.
The Pakistani governmentt roundly, and rightly, denounced this and disowned it.
Again I don't know the motivation of the Pakistani Minister who did what he had done. Surely it cannot be a rational act as being a cabinet minister of a supposedly civilised democratic country, you cannot go around offering a bounty on some one's life just because he or she had made a bad movie portraying inaccurate information about a religious figure!
This proves once again that religion is best separately from politics. My firm belief.
2. Lawrence Wong, a senior minister of state commenting, or rebuking, some Singaporeans for picking on the recent 'show case' of Singapore life to the visiting royal couples as proxy of the Queen of UK and on the TV program: 'Conversaton with the PM' where a few participants are PAP activists.
He meant well, I am sure. At the same time, he is NOT listening carefully. If the 'show case' Singaporeans are volunteers and want to do it for Singapore and for the visiting Queen of UK proxy, fine and well. At the same time, it is a 'show' or 'wayang' as the critics claimed. Just let it be. Acknowledged the patriotism and volunteerism of the volunteers. There is NO NEED to rebuke those who hold a different view here. They have their valid reasons.
On the 'Conversaton with the PM' program, I am not sure all critics are harbouring the anti-PAP views. It is just that how the 30 guests, I think, were selected need to be questioned IF the conversation with the PM is meant to get divergent views from all walks of life of Singapore, including different political persuasion.
Just points out that out of the 30, only 4-6 were so-called PAP activists. The other 24-26 are representative of the cross section of Singapore life. If that is true, there is no defending or rebuking to do. Point out the facts and let the people be the judge.
