Best things that ever happened in Singapore after the most recent General Election (GE) where the ruling party, PAP, sufferred further lost of the populist votes to just above 60%!

Since then a lot of changes, many considered overdue by the voters, had taken place in the way the government engaged with the voters. Their true master in a true democratic society. Not ideal but it goes with the territories. For now anyway.

When you have power and authority, real or imaginary, your so-called supporters can go overboard with pampering you. As a result, you may lost sight of 'why you want to be a MP in the 1st place'. That is to serve the residents in your constituency.

So, this is the right step by the concerned MPs and more should follow. Let there be NO pampering of MPs at public events for their residents. Reasonabel respect should be given. That's all.

May the reforms continued and may the ruling party wins at least 70% of the populists' votes in the next GE with effective governance and an intimate and healthy relationship with the voters. Facts based. Take care of the emotional bits and solve problems and challenges rationally!
