No news headline to comment on. Instead I just want to reflect on the need for self-discipline.
Had a 'pig out' last night with a long time from from Beijing. Went to 3 places to eat starting from 7 p.m. and ended at 12.30 a.m. this morning!
A balancing act. To eat or not to eat since the long time friend loves to eat! So I told myself I can always got for a jog after this 'pig out' session.
Mom visited me and brought some foods with her in the morning. Another decision making time! I ate most of the foods she brought with her as she does not come over that frequently these days. I figured, again, that I can burn the excess intake with the jogging exercise!
I finally got down to jogging this afternoon after another round of binging at my 4th auntie place. She is not well lately and it was great to see her in better and spirit and enjoy our visits. So, I ate a few more things there too!!
It was not easy as I seriously HAD too much foods over the last 24 hours!! The usual 1st half hour was comfortable. The 2nd 15 mins after the half hour began to strain me a little. At the 1 hour mark, I was reduced to walking!! The good thing is that the weather was warm and I am sweating profusely. That made me feel that I had done something to burn again these excess foods!
I persisted with the last 15 mins from the McRachit Reservoirs to my place continuously. It was good to be able to jog all the way without stopping after 1 hour of jogging and walking!
May I continue to will myself to exercise with great discipline. At the same time, may I learn to be wiser to be able to explain to mom and friends that I care about them without needing to please them with binging! :-)
