Daily Lessons from Life 19-20 April 2011 - Baby Buried Alive

Just read that a newly born baby was buried alive but was 'discovered' accidentally by an old smoker who have to shift from his normal smoking spot to the spot right in front of where the baby was buried! What a story!!

Happiness and joy that the newly born lived and the old smoker did a good deed!

Sad if the mother who gave birth to the boy and the father, if he is still around, do not step forward to 'right the wrong'.

It is meant to be. That the baby lives and that whatever the circumstances for the mother or parents to bury the baby alive after birth. Unless, of course, the mother or the parents are assessed to be unfit, especially mentally, to take care of the baby.

Lessons for me are:

1. life has its own plan on miracle and tragedy! If it is not time, it is not time. If it is, so be it!;

2. often time, tragedy and joy intertwined. Like a bad joke sometimes. Can a 'wrong be right'? As long as life is not lost, losing anything else is really not that bad!! Unless there is a massive degradation of the quality of that life that is still alive! Or kept alive!! Then, that is a different proposition;

3. like the old smoker said: 'The baby must be happy as it should had been dead!'. Of course, it will be traumatic if the baby learned much later that it was abandoned by his or her mother or parents. That is not helpful and it is better that the baby be taught to be grateful that he or she lives!

Miracle and brought joys to some but dismays and traumas to some others! Life is strange. Indeed... We simply have to make the best of it.

p/s: The GE will be on 7 May 2011. The campaign will start on 27 April 2011. This is another 'watershed' GE! We shall see if it is really a 'watershed' since every GE in the past was touted as 'watershed'! :-)
