Daily Lessons from LIfe 16 July 2010 - AsiaOne Multimedia

"Narcissist posts raunchy pics on Facebook - AsiaOne Website 16 July 201;

Here is the latest internet 'sensation' - a busty teenage girl who posts raunchy pictures of herself on Facebook.

The girl, who goes by the name Yagami Chan, is apparently from Taiwan but now lives in Hong Kong.

Yagami, who claims she is a 36C, has reportedly posted over a hundred pictures of herself in bras and skimpy tops in hopes that people will pay attention to her, and someone will fall in love with her."

The wireless and instant whatever generation! It is here and it is NOW. This piece of news is hardly surprising with so many more whatever wannabe posting this and that photos or videos of themselves on the boundariless web space.

Lessons for me are:

1. technology itself is neutral. How people use it and how they allowed or disallowed it to rule over them is up to them. The young and impressionable will be at greater risk of fallen prey to it;

2. if the kids are under-aged, they deserved ALL the legal protection the laws can provide. While detection is difficult and elusive, the full weight of the laws must be applied whenever a case is discovered that the young and underage were explored - willingly or unwillingly! If it is willingly, then counselling is in order. If unwillingly, the exploiters must be brought to justice and punished severely to set example of them!;

3. if the kids are come of age and of legal age to be of independent and sound mind, there is NOTHING we can do to change their behaviors. It will have to be left to their friends and families to try to influence them. If they are above 21 years old, they can do whatever they want with their bodies and minds. Hopefully they will make the right decision within the 'conventional' wisdom and code of conducts deemed reasonable by the society they lived in. Otherwise, clashes will occur and someone will get hurt. It won't be pretty. It will be ugly!

May technologies continue to evolve and even achieve break-through leaps. Yet, may human being be in control of how they will use the technologies and NOT be slaves to them!!
