"President Obama is the winner of this year Nobel Peace Prize!
Well, this is one Nobel Prize that has more controversial winners than any other categories! I would dared said that besides Mother Theresa, there were not many winners with her universal appeal and agreement!
President Obama himself were supposedly surprised and deeply humbled by the award. Personally I feel that he should have declined to accept the prize as he has, to date, despite all the good intention and grand vision for a peaceful world, not produced any tangible peace results around the world! He would have my number 1 hero had he declined the prize!!
Lessons for me are:
1. not all prizes are as good as they come! Some prizes are better for us NOT to accept!;
2. President Obama really needs to remind himself that while there is an overwhelming goodwill and support for him, he has to seriously considered: are these justified? His deeply humble nature must be kept in check. Sometimes you rely on your partner. In this case, Mrs. Obama seems to be enjoying the limelight too much now!;
3. take the Nobel Peace Prize as it is: mostly a political thingy! Don't bet on a more peaceful world until we do away with all the nuke weapons.
Congratulation to the Nomination Committee for shooting themselves in their feet again! Or did they? Well, it is all a matter of perspective!
