Daily Lessons from Life 30 September 2009

Today is the last day of 3Q09. 3/4 of 2009 is over soon!! I am glad that I still have a sense of achievement and not lost focus on my 2009 resolutions! Not all of them are working as planned though not are for the lack of trying. I guessed that is the satisfying part. I tried my best and be honest with myself!!

No headline to comment on but just to report something encouraging about the progress of one of my ex-colleagues who suffered a stroke a few months back.

A few of the old colleagues visited him today and found him to be recovering fairly well. This is especially so when compared to our last visit where we were not sure if he is aware of who are are and there were very little movement of his hands and legs.

Today he was able to recognize us and called our names out loud! He was keen to show off the dexterity of his right hand and right leg! He can recognized photos of friends from the Tianjin days as well as me!

His sense of humour returned to as he answered my tease on why he call me a monk when we met in BJ: "Because of your short haircut what!" He also said he called me: 'Professor' as at the time I was fronting the '5-Star Customers Academy', an entity that help our customers get educated on business management and customer services practices.

We are all very please with his progress. It is great joy to see our friend getting well.

At the same time, I am aware that this progress is never enough for him and his beloved family until he is fully back to his old self.

I wish him continued success in getting there with his own determined efforts and the love, supports, and care by his family!
