18 months’ jail for netizen whose bomb hoax caused 'enormous disruption'

This is a very serious sentence. The 23-yr old must be pretty shocked at this punishment meted out to him. He is supposedly out on bail pending an appeal.

I hv no access to the background of the offender besides what the judge had shared in the sentencing consideration: he did so out of frustration abt his long educational journey.

If true, it sounds like a young man with potentially disturbed mind as linking a bomb hoax to this long educational journey is abnormal behaviours!! To most people.

Anyway, it is a done deal pending his appeal.

This sentence is in view of the current security environment where terrorists attacks r real n higher in happening then ever before that got the court n government realising the need to press the message out. The message of: "If u try to be funny with bomb or any other terrorists threats" u will b severely deal with!!

Hopefully the appeal will get the court to reduced sentence from 18 mths to 3mths given it came from a "disturbed" young man!!
